Xapien uses NLP to understand topics and themes, unlike traditional adverse media screening solutions that rely on keyword-based matches.
Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques power intelligent analysis of textual information by identifying context and relevance. The number of articles matched to your subject is displayed in the top right-hand corner.
By assessing context, Xapien flags types of adverse activity and categorises them by risk. It can also auto-translate information into English and extract knowledge from over 130 languages.
Note: These are not articles added by analysts but a live search and will update each time you run a new search. This also means you will not get broken links to old articles.
Filtering Articles
Articles feature colour-coded pills to identify direct, indirect, and no risk. Source pills allow you to instantly filter articles by clicking on them.
You can filter articles by dragging across a specific date range or clicking a specific date to drill down further. These are colour-coded: red for direct risk, amber for indirect risk, and grey for no identified risk.
In the additional filters section, you can filter articles by selecting a specific person, organisation, language, or place.
Resetting Filters
To reset active filters, go to the top left corner of the web and media section. Click "Reset all" or click the X within a specific filter.
Muting Risk
For risks that aren’t of interest, mute them from the whole report by choosing the relevant risk pill and clicking the X. To remove a risk term from an article, select the risk pill within the article and click the X.
Discarding Articles
To discard an irrelevant article, click "Confirm" in the left-hand corner of the article snippet, then select "Discard from report." You can continue discarding articles or click the prompt to update the report, at which point related articles will be discarded and the report updated.
